Bags for Wildlife Photography

Every photographer has many many bags, getting a bigger bag every now and then to fit in more and more gear, for me ever since i started shooting with heavier and bigger lenses like Nikon 800mm f5.6 and Nikon 400mm 2.8, normal camera bags stoped to make sense, the heavy lenses are challenge for any bag, and eventually took all the space in the bag.

i have started to use tactical and military bags, those are built to withstand heavy usage and bad conditions, on top its camouflaged and don’t shine under the sun, designed to handle heavy loads and yet comfortable to use for long walking distances.

my go to are:

Tasmanian Tiger “TT RAID PACK MKIIIand Tasmanian Tiger “TT PATHFINDER MKII”.

What i love most about tactical bags, is their molle stitching, which allows me to configure the bag with molle pouches to fit my needs.

for moving from my house to the shooting location i put my stuff in a Pelican Hard case.

its only when i have extra long hike, i would use special bag for the lens “LONG LENS BAGS XPANDABLE SERIES”.

for wildlife photography camera and lenses are just a little part of what we carry, i still have to carry:

Batteries, microphone, water, little chair, camouflage suit or blanket, game caller, and when its winter you add clothes to the load, just to name a few.

for a day herping trip i just go with 511 Rush 12 bag.
