Green-winged Teal (Anas carolinensis) **
The Green-winged Teal (Anas carolinensis) is a small, colorful duck known for its distinctive green wing patch and a striking green stripe that runs from its eye to the back of its head in males. It is native to North America and is often found in shallow wetlands, ponds, and marshes. During migration, these teals travel in large flocks from their breeding grounds in northern regions of Canada and Alaska to wintering habitats across the southern United States, Mexico, and parts of Central America. They feed on seeds, aquatic plants, and small invertebrates.
