Red-footed Booby (Sula sula) **
The Red-footed Booby (Sula sula) is a striking seabird that is widely distributed across tropical and subtropical oceans, particularly in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. This medium-sized booby is known for its vibrant red feet, which provide a distinctive feature when it is perched or flying. The plumage of the Red-footed Booby can vary from white to brownish with darker wings, but its most notable characteristic is the colorful feet. The bird's long, pointed bill and wings, combined with its aerodynamic build, make it an excellent flyer and diver. Red-footed Boobies typically nest in trees or shrubs on islands, where they form large, noisy colonies. Their diet mainly consists of fish and squid, which they catch by diving from great heights into the water. Despite their elegance in flight, they are often seen in large groups, resting or interacting in coastal areas and offshore islands.
